Dr. Stephanie Dailey is conducting a research study about how working mothers in Portugal experience and navigate work and family life. The purpose of the study is to better understand women’s day-to-day experiences managing paid work and family responsibilities in Portugal.

Who can participate?

You may participate if you are a Portuguese female, employed full-time and have at least one child living at home. You must also be at least 18 years old to participate.

What does participation involve?

Participation involves a 45-60 minute in-person interview in Lisbon, Portugal. Interviews will be conducted in person in a private conference room at the Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão (ISEG) – Universidade de Lisboa between 24-29 June. This will entail an informal conversation about your experiences with work and family life. With your permission, the conversation will be audio recorded for research purposes.

Keep in mind, your participation is voluntary, and you may skip any question or stop the interview at any time. All information will be kept confidential, and your name will not be used in any publications or presentations.

What will I receive for participating?

Participants will receive 40€ gift card as a thank-you for their time. In addition, your interview will help researchers better understand what working mothers need and what support systems make daily life easier or harder, so that workplaces and communities can learn from these insights. For more information, you may review the full informed consent.
